Prominent, pointed canines ('vampire teeth') are a purely cosmetic complaint with an unusually simple fix: the point is rounded and the edge brought into line with the neighbouring teeth, usually by conservative polishing, sometimes with a touch of bonding.
It's normally a single short visit. Canines do important guiding work in your bite, though, so the reshaping has to respect how your teeth move against each other, another reason this starts with an exam rather than a drill.
