Acid erosion comes from diet, reflux, or both. It dissolves enamel gradually, leaving teeth that look thinner, yellower (as the dentine underneath shows through) and glassy or scalloped at the edges.
Treatment restores the lost surface with bonding or veneers, but the more important half is stopping the acid exposure that caused it, because restorations placed into an unmanaged acid environment don't last. Expect a good dentist to talk about causes, not just repairs.
