Clear aligners (sold under brand names such as Invisalign® and offered generically by many providers) straighten teeth using a series of transparent, removable trays swapped every week or two. Their pitch is discretion: orthodontics that most people won't clock across a table.

'Most people' is doing some work in that sentence, though. Aligners are subtle, not invisible: there's a slight sheen, a scalloped edge at the gumline, and attachments in many cases. Seeing that honestly on your own smile beats being surprised by it in week one.
